CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry is better known in the workplace and industry as the White Card.
This course complies with Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation requiring induction training for anyone wishing to work in the construction industry or go onto a construction site.
This course meets the general construction induction training requirements of:
- Part 1.1 Definitions and Part 6.5 of the Model Work Health and Safety Regulations;
- Division 11 of Part 3 of the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations 1996 for Western Australia; and
- Division 3 of Part 5.1 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2007 for Victoria.
It is expected that site-specific induction training will be conducted prior to conducting construction work.
Our white card course covers the basic WHS knowledge required to gain entry to any construction site within Australia.
Students will gain the knowledge, skills and ability to demonstrate an understanding of WHS legislative requirements, basic principles of risk management, prevention of injury and illness in the construction industry.

Course Delivery
FACT courses are completed face to face at our training location 34 South Terrace Adelaide 5000.
To ensure the integrity of our process we will require Original photo ID Drivers licence or Proof Of age and a medicare card or Passport. We provide a Learners Guide in Original booking email.
White Card In South Australia
Students are required to be competent in written and spoken English and must declare that they have the Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills required prior to booking. The course is an entry-level course, aimed at level 1 of the Australian Qualifications Framework (Certificate I level). There is a requirement to be able to read, understand and explain basic construction terminology, hazards, policies and procedures, etc. While there is a large amount of legislation covered, it is covered mostly by way of discussion, videos and training and the student’s ability to read complex text is not required for this purpose. The LLN requirements of this course do not exceed those of a standard construction industry workplace.
Course Duration
The overall course duration is up to 8 hours (this does not include your breaks). The registration and check in time is From 08:00 am and the practical training and assessment commences at 08:30am sharp and finish at 04:00pm. Any student arriving later than 08:30am to the course will mean you are unable to attend the training program and full course fees will apply.
Clothing RequirementsÂ
Students MUST wear fully enclosed footwear. Thongs, sandals, crocs and slides are NOT permitted. Long pants & High Viz retro-reflective clothing is preferred however a High Viz retro-reflective jacket will be supplied if needed during the training and assessment only.
During Covid-19 we strongly recommend students bring there own Hard Hat High Viz Vest and Safety Glasses.
