Provide first aid in an education and care setting

You will receive hands on practice with CPR mannikins adults children and babies as well as actually using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), simulate bandaging eye injuries, broken bones and wound care. There will be some roleplay with scene and injury assessments.

It will provide you with an understanding on how to provide an emergency response in a range of situations, including within an education and care setting.

CPR provided in this course is the same CPR training that all medical professionals receive.

The course is for educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.

This course may contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).

Specific licensing requirements, including requirements for refresher training, should be obtained from the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and/or relevant state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authority.

CPCCWHS1001
PREPARE TO WORK SAFELY IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry is better known in the workplace and industry as the White Card.

This course complies with Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation requiring induction training for anyone wishing to work in the construction industry or go onto a construction site.

This course meets the general construction induction training requirements of:

  • Part 1.1 Definitions and Part 6.5 of the Model Work Health and Safety Regulations;
  • Division 11 of Part 3 of the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations 1996 for Western Australia; and
  • Division 3 of Part 5.1 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2007 for Victoria.

It is expected that site-specific induction training will be conducted prior to conducting construction work.

Our white card course covers the basic WHS knowledge required to gain entry to any construction site within Australia.

Students will gain the knowledge, skills and ability to demonstrate an understanding of WHS legislative requirements, basic principles of risk management, prevention of injury and illness in the construction industry.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

In accordance with South Australian guidelines FATA has taken the position that we will be closed as of 6pm on the 20th of July until the lockdown has been completed. FATA is committed to the health and safety of its students and staff, we would like to thank our students at this time for the patience they have shown in these times.

Anyone that has training booked during the lockdown will be contact by the office to arrange a rescheduling of the the course.

FATA is commit to a safe work environment for both its students and staff and as such effective of 18 March 2020 at 6pm any student or staff member showing signs of any illness will be asked to leave. All students and staff are required to practice social distance and use the provided hand cleaner locate at the front of reception and in the classrooms.

Any person that has travelled from overseas is required to self-isolate and anyone that tries to attend training at FACT that has not practiced self-isolation will be asked to leave. Any person ignoring the self-isolation runs the risk of heavy fines and possibly causing injury to others.

Effective immediately, students studying in Australia on a Student Visa can now participate in White Card training and first aid training and receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment.

Over the past few years International where required to complete training in a CRICOS registered RTO. This is still the case however effective of July 2021 International are permitted to complete the following course at RTO’s that are not CRICIOS registered:

What a fantastic way to learn basic first aid. The tutor was very easy to understand and follow and made the course personal to ensure we could relate to the content. The easy approach also ensured that the information was attained and retained. I hope I never have to use the skills gained but thankful for the way in which they were taught as I will remember how to respond. Also as a quick note, be prepared with your own water and snack/lunch. Covid has restricted many things, including the tea/coffee facilities here.
